Prior to sitting with ayahuasca, you are instructed to think about your intention for your journey. To meditate on that for the week prior. Having felt I had done all the healing I needed on my “traumas” within the Akashic Records, I decided to set my intention to raising my vibration to love, the highest vibration. Now I wasn’t expecting to come out of the experience an ascended light being, but I was definitely hoping to just get closer to that vibration. Whatever elevation Mother Aya could help me ascend to in a single sitting with her, I was open to it and her messages. About 45 minutes after drinking the “tea,” she came with a single message. She wanted to show me that most scenarios in life that would frustrate, anger or upset me in a way that lowered my vibration were actually not about me at all. I was taking many situations as a personal attack or some sort of disrespect when they in fact, had nothing to do with me. It was all in my own mind. She showed me a couple of scenarios that would typically raise my irritability or feelings of being disrespected. Then she explained & showed me what was ACTUALLY going on and how it had nothing to do with me. This deeper understanding allowed me to release the lower vibrations I felt towards those scenarios and raise my vibration closer to love.
Now to how this related to my breath work experience last weekend. The scenario I was guided to address was a massive heart break from my late teens/early twenties. It was my first love and it was a big one. A 5 year relationship that ended with his best girlfriend leaving her husband for him and he leaving me for her. This was 20 years ago and I really felt no pain from the loss any longer. But the breath work session showed me that the animosity I held for both of them was still there, in my subconscious. The message again was “It’s not about you." Yes, my heart was broken but that wasn’t their intention. Yes, it took me years to find a comfort in loving that deeply again but that was not their intention. Just like the time, I had to break the heart of a person I so dearly treasured as a person, it was not about him. Those two separate relationships had so much similarities, except in one relationship I was doing the breaking up and the other I was being broken up with. Being shown this connection gave me a deeper understanding about the heart break I had in my 20s and allowed me to release the subconscious resentment I still carried because “It wasn’t about me.”
How many traumas, heartbreaks, frustrations, pain bodies, etc. can you feel back into and realize that they weren’t about you? I feel like there is so much that happens in our lives that send us into a place of sadness, stress, anxiety, and resentment that actually have nothing to do with us. We need to let those go. And that takes a lot of work! A message I am still working on integrating after receiving it over 9 months ago.
If you’re not sure or can’t connect with the message, you can always ask your guides for help and meditate on it.

Although I have experienced so much healing through the Akashic Records, I found that there is still work to be done. This weekend I participated in a breath work and sound bath class. Elias lovingly guided us to a past trauma in our conscious or, as it was in my case, our subconscious. A situation I thought I had healed showed up again. I was given a deeper understanding about the scenario and the people involved. This understanding helped to resolve a deep resentment I was still holding on to subconsciously.
This moment taught me that even when we think we have done the work and healed areas of our life, there is often deeper work to be done. And that comes from going within. You may chose to take a breath work class, guided meditation, prayer, therapy, hypnosis, or going into your Akashic Records but the work in ongoing. There is so much wisdom to be gained. And with that wisdom comes an understanding that brings us all closer to peace, love and joy.

There are definitely times where it can be difficult to find the blessings and gratitude in challenging situations. Just lost your job? Be grateful there are so many other jobs available. Be grateful for unemployment insurance. Be grateful that your next position will provide you more freedom, flexibility, joy and abundance. Be grateful for what you are about to receive rather than angry or disappointed in the current circumstance.
This weekend I had a particularly challenging experience. I was playing in a volleyball tournament. It’s the kind of tournament where you sign up as an individual and you are placed on to a team. You don’t know who you are going to play with until play starts. Because I was on the winning team last year, the tournament director had forewarned me that I probably wouldn’t have a strong team. I shrugged at this because regardless of how my team performs, I’m going to have a good time, get some exercise and enjoy the social aspect of the day. I didn’t dwell on the idea of being dealt a bad hand even though I was told to expect this. However, upon the teams being presented I realized I was actually on one of the strongest teams in the tournament. I was giddy and excited for the day! We won our first game and had a great team chemistry. The next game was much closer but we still pulled out a win. I was feeling that athletic flow that winners speak about when you are dialed in and doing all the right things. About 5 plays into our 3rd game I dove for a ball. I got under the ball and pulled out a great dig but as my elbow touched the sand I immediately felt it happen. My right shoulder dislocated. The play was still going on as I laid on the ground trying to tell everyone that my shoulder was out. The play finally ended with my team winning the point and everyone on the court finally realizing I was injured. It was visually apparent that my arm was not where it should be. To my luck, there was an ER doctor playing in the tournament. He instructed my friend where to place counter pressure as he quickly, easily and painlessly repositioned my arm back into the shoulder socket. While the dislocation wasn’t totally painless, I sat in total appreciation and gratitude that it was repositioned within 2 minutes. I even considered continuing to play the rest of the day but took the doctor’s advice to take it easy and give the stretched out tendons and ligaments a chance to repair for the next 2-4 weeks.
What a bummer! My team was playing great, we had such a positive vibe and were headed towards a possible win. But now I’m out of the tournament with ice on my shoulder watching from the sidelines ….and I couldn’t have been more grateful. I thanked my guides and angels for protecting me and giving me strength to get through the worst of it. I felt immense gratitude for the ER doctor being onsite. I was happy I didn’t end up in an ambulance or at the ER. I felt loved and cared for by many other players coming to my aid with water, ice, and concern for my well being. There was a professional volleyball player watching the tournament that was kind and knowledgable enough to tape my shoulder for a little extra support. There were so many things about that day that went right, I sat not in disappointment because of the tournament ending injury, but rather pure gratitude for all that went right.
We will all go through tribulations in life but it’s how we flow with those that creates our reality. Are you flowing in a state of disappointment for what you do not have or spending more of your time reveling in the state of gratitude? If things aren’t going well, that is the most important time to ramp up your gratitude practice. Law of Attraction says where your mind goes your energy flows. And remember, practice makes perfect. Keep practicing! I love you and am grateful if you’ve made it this far in this particularly long post.

]]>Somewhere around the age of 9 I learned about astrology because I was reading through the Sunday comics and stumbled upon the horoscope section. There I found the sign that corresponded with my birthdate, Leo, and was immediately interested. I looked at the names of all the other signs and their symbols, and in true Leo fashion, I was extremely proud to be the lion. Around the age of 21 I gained some deeper knowledge and began understanding moon signs and more about the other signs in astrology. I loved the information I was learning because it helped me have a clearer understanding of how and why people process life situations differently.
At the age of 27 I had my first card reading. My good friend comes from a Gypsy lineage and her mom did readings with playing cards, which tarot was originally derived from. The reading was so spot on and I became a believer…with a healthy level of skepticism.
A few years later my dog all of a sudden just stopped having strength or control in his hind legs and couldn’t stand. I met with multiple vets and after many tests, there was just no answer. My roommate suggested I reach out to an animal communicator she had worked with for her horses that would come up lame. She explained that she would work with vets, large animal chiropractors, massage therapists, and no one would have answers for her horse being lame. She would contact an animal communicator and she would have an answer within 10 minutes of the reading. I had never even heard of animal communicators but I figured “let’s do it!” My dog was the thing I loved most in the world and was willing to try anything. The communicator told me exactly what the dog needed and within 24 hours he was up and walking, Again, I became a believer….with a healthy amount of skepticism.
Over the next 13 years I went through many personal ups and downs and made a huge move out of the Pacific Northwest to southern California. In January of 2019 I set a New Year’s resolution to work out every day for a full month. I began consistently practicing yoga during this month effort and meditation just naturally came along with the practice. By the end of the month I had a new found a new, centered version of me. I continued practicing over the next year and began a journey of internal connection and guidance from my higher self. As this internal journey progressed, my external interest in all things spiritual expanded as well, collecting crystals, oracle decks and expanding my knowledge about all things mystic including auras, psychics/mediums, chakras, music frequency healing, crystal grids, New & Full Moon rituals, and The Akashic Records.
I had my first Akashic Records reading in January of 2020. I met with a reader (now my mentor,) Shannon, in person for the reading. Almost as soon as the reading started I had a huge shift in my energy. I had never felt that way before and didn’t really know what it was. I could only describe it as feeling light-headed. I asked all the questions one would ask when they feel a lack of direction in just about every area of life. The answers I received (keep doing what you are doing with regard to yoga and meditation, and do more of it) were not what I was hoping for, but they were exactly what I needed. It was much easier to see that in hindsight. When I got back in my car after the reading I was so happy about the information I received that I couldn’t wait to share it. I was still in this new, strange energetic feeling and didn’t quite know what that was all about. So I sat in my car and made a phone call. 20 minutes later I felt “normal” enough to drive again and be on my way. Apparently what I was doing was grounding myself from the elevated vibrational state I had been sharing in with Shannon. Again, hindsight is 20/20. This was my first not-so-obvious signal from my guides that The Records were part of my path.
Over the next 6 months, COVID and quarantine changed our world. I now had more time than ever to commit to yoga and meditation. So almost every day or night I was connecting through meditation. After one vigorous online yoga class, I stayed in savasana and began hearing messages. I got two very clear names Akasha and Ayala. I wasn’t so sure what to do with these names or what they meant so I Googled them both. I discovered that Akasha is how the Akashic Records refers to itself and Alaya is the 8th consciousness, the storehouse of all information, where the Akashic Records exist. While researching these two words I felt the light-headed sensation again along with a feeling of being wrapped in a universal, loving energy. I was connected!
That summer, I received another reading from a psychic/medium whose wait list I had been on for about 8 months. I was told about my aura color (Turquoise) and how that has supported me through my journey during this incarnation as Caroline Horne. Those with a turquoise aura often become healers due to the experience of the soul. The energy she connected with acknowledged the considerable amount of internal work I had committed to and achieved in this lifetime. She was then given the message that I was able to read Akashic Records for myself and others. She said it felt sacred that I had been given this gift. My first thought was “Oh cool!” and “Holy crap! How am I going to do that?!” I reached back out to Shannon, who had done my initial Akashic Records reading and she offered to mentor me. I felt honored to be again be given this gift and clear sign from the Universe that I was on the right path.
Since starting in August of 2020, I have over 200 hours of practice reading Akashic Records for my clients. I feel honored each time anyone allows me to open their records and consider the time spent with each soul as a gift and part of my purpose here on Earth. If there is one take away that I have learned from each of my readings is that your guides, teachers and ascended beings of the light all love you unconditionally. Welcome to your Akashic soul journey at The Akashayana.
